Leila Margaret Alexander Ball

Leila Margaret Alexander Ball, 85, of Eudora, Ark. passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village, Ark. Leila was born in Greenville, Miss. on February 13, 1929 to the late Hugh Standifer and Susie Wineman Alexander. She was a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, Miss. and a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of the Phi Mu sorority. Leila was a member of Eudora Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was an avid flower gardener and loved to read and quilt. Leila was a great listener. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Mack Ball, Sr. and brother, Dr. Hugh Allan Alexander. She is survived by her son, Mack Ball, Jr. of Eudora, Ark.; daughters, Sally Ball Tisdale and her husband Stephen of Eudora, Ark. and Kathryn Ball Phillips and her husband Doug of Asheville, N.C.; sister-in-law, Charlotte Jolly Alexander of Madison, Miss.; five grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Gilfoil and her husband Jim, Elizabeth Cooper and her husband Zach, Allan Phillips and his wife Becky, David Phillips and his wife Melissa, and Leila Phillips Allen and her husband Matthew; 11 great-grandchildren. Private Family Graveside Service will be held 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, AR. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm Friday, December 12, 2014 at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora, AR. Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora, Ark. with Rev. Jeff Tarver and Rev Jimmy Wallace officiating.
