Thomas N. "Tom" Cofer, MD, FACP, 77, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He was born August 13, 1937, in Marion Illinois to Thomas and Elsie Cofer. Tom was a US Air Force veteran and an Internal Medicine Physician. He enjoyed sailing, flying, and was an avid reader. Tom was patient, kind, and devoted to his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Arthur Cofer. Tom is survived by his best friend and the love of his life for 20 years, Dianne Cofer of Hot Springs; sons, Tom (Amy) Cofer, of Bradenton, Florida; Graham (Nickie) Cofer, of Venice, Florida; Jeff (Jeanie) Cofer of Riverview, Florida; daughter Angela (Ronnie) Douglass of Sheridan, Arkansas; and grandchildren, Ryan (Marissa) Douglass; Morgan Atwell; Savannah, Alexandra, Ross, Jenna, and Madison Cofer; sister-in-law, Jean Cofer Ireland; nephews, Brett (Allison) and Bryan Cofer. Visitation service will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 21st, at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 22nd, at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Burial will be at Cedarvale Cemetery in Hot Springs Village. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charitable Christian Clinic at 133 Arbor Street, Hot Springs, Ark. 71901.
