Patricia Fern Reddell

Patricia Fern Norton Reddell, age 79, of Harrison passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. She was born Sept. 7, 1935 in Jasper, Ark. the daughter of Howard and Ola Middleton Norton. She lived most of her life in Newton County, Ark. and was a graduate of Mt. Judea High School. She moved to Kansas City, Mo. to find employment. She worked at Sears Roebuck and a small defense plant. Pat met her husband, Robert Vincent Reddell, in Kansas City, even though they were both from Newton County, Ark. They lived there 10 years and had two daughters, Marsha and Tamara. In 1963, they moved back to Arkansas, where they were co-owners of the Ozark Cafe in Jasper. She later went to work as a dental assistant for Dr. J. Lex Moore DDS at Harrison. Pat also was a teacher's assistant in the Jasper Public Schools. Pat, Robert and the girls were overjoyed when they had a son William Robert. Pat retired from the Newton and Boone County Department of Public Health. She loved people and the many aspects of her life. After their children finished college, she and Robert liked to travel on bus tours with family and friends and to Southern Texas during the winter months, where they were called "snow birds." She liked reading her Bible, fishing, camping, floating the Buffalo and Southern Gospel singing. Pat dearly loved her children and grandchildren and taught them to Love the Lord. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Jasper and also attended First Baptist of Harrison. Pat is survived by two daughters, Marsha (Tony) Horton, Tamara (Jerry) Allen all of Harrison; one son, Bob (Tanya) Reddell of Jonesboro, Ark. She was Nana to Dawn Allen-Williams, John Allen, Austin Reddell, Tori Horton, Laken Reddell and Anna Reddell and four great-grandchildren, Dawson, Jeri, Keri and Mallori. Celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Harrison, with Rev. Vernon Cooper and Rev. Rob Davis officiating. A Celebration Luncheon will follow the service. Family graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery. A Visitation will be 6–8 p.m. Monday at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills, 501 East Sherman Avenue, Harrison, AR 72601. Arrangements are by Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
