Hazel Brown LaCook

Hazel Brown LaCook, 82, of Morrilton passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014. Of the Christian faith, she was born July 5, 1932 to William and Ludie Brown of Ada Valley, Ark. Hazel retired from Winrock Farms and Winrock International after 36 years. She started to work for Mr. Winthrop Rockefeller in 1958. In 1975, she was hired by Winrock International as manager of housekeeping and foodservice and a host for all conference guests. She lived at Winrock on Petit Jean Mountain for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie LaCook, and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include three children, Sharon Kay LaCook, Sue Thomson and husband, Marshall and Lewis LaCook all of Morrilton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Virginia Jones Lawrence of Fresno, Calif. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 at the Harris Chapel. Burial: Ada Valley Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
