Herta Maria Holland

Herta Maria Holland, age 82, of Mabelvale, died Saturday, December 27, 2014. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James J. Holland, her parents; Willhelm and Christine Haussteiner and grandparents. She is survived by sisters, Mimi Pfuner and husband Fritz, Christie Kende and husband Peter and beloved niece Bridgette Steidl and nephew Stefan Danzs and wife Nicole of Austria. Herta was born August 8, 1932 in Austria, the oldest of three girls. She met the love of her life, James J. Holland, in Austria and they were married on September 29, 1951. James was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia and Herta joined him there, in March 1952. She is a past matron of Adoniram Eastern Star Chapter 604, where she achieved her 50 year pin. She was a member of Mabelvale Methodist Church and she worked security at AT&T from 1984 to 2013, where she has left numerous adopted family members and friends. She is also survived by nephew John Holland and wife Mona, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, niece Michele Holland and husband Paul of Ft. Worth, Texas and niece Gail Field and husband Bill of Benton, Arkansas and many more nieces and nephews. She also leaves special friends Phyllis Griffiths, Debby Jones, Sue Simmons and Debbie Stout. Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 6400 Mablevale Pike, Little Rock, Ark. with burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark. Service will be officiated by Rev. Robert Marble from First Methodist Church of Mabelvale. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock.
