Herbert Delton Gates

Herbert Delton Gates, passed away February 3, 2014 in Sherwood, Arkansas under the care of Arkansas Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 21, 1924 in Gurdon to Herbert Wesley and Ruby Gates. He was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Camden and an accountant with International Paper Company for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jean Boulden, and his beloved wife of 54 years, Doris McCoy Gates. He is survived by his sister Jo Davies of Gurdon; daughters Gayle (Gordon) Beeson of Sherwood and Carol (Mike) Neal of Magnolia; granddaughters Megan (Cale) Turner of Little Rock, Anna (David) Cook of North Little Rock, and Samantha and Suzannah Neal, both of Magnolia; great granddaughter Jarrett Turner of Little Rock; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden. A graveside service will follow at noon at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev.
