Leonard Cathcart

Leonard Earl Cathcart, age 87, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was born November 15, 1926 in Lonsdale, Arkansas to the late Robert and Claudia Cathcart. Mr. Cathcart was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church. He retired in 1986 after 35 years from Texas Eastern Pipeline as a transportation supervisor. Mr. Cathcart enjoyed his family, friends, gardening, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cathcart of Benton; three sons, Wayne Carthcart of Benton, Louisiana, Dale Cathcart of Shreveport, Louisiana and Gary Cathcart of Benton; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris, Bryan, Kyle, Josh and Michael Cathcart and Roger Barker. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 6 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 7 at Ten Mile Baptist Church with burial at Fairplay Cemetery.
