Joyce Gale Callahan Cooper, 80, of Haskell, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2014. She was born October 11, 1933 in Haskell to the late Ovie and Gladys Stirman Callahan. Joyce worked for Reynolds Aluminum Company until she retired. She was a current member of Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church and formally a member for 57 years at Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Haskell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, Ottis James Cooper and brother, Arthur Callahan of Danville. Joyce is survived by two sister, June Ramsey of Little Rock and Shirley (Henry) Jones of Haskell, five children, Brenda Joyce (Rick) McDougal, Virginia Gale (Bill) Clements, James Cooper, Trisha Cooper and Jay (Arlene) Cooper, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Church services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with burial to follow at Mt. Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home.
