Hazel "Nanny" Sims

Hazel O. ‘Nanny' Sims, 87,of Bauxite, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 in Benton, Arkansas. She was born on June 18, 1926 in El Dorado, Arkansas to James Oliver Sterrett and Henrietta Ross Sterrett. Hazel worked at Arkansas Face Veneer until she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James M. Sims, brother Bud Sterrett, and sister Wilma Hodges. Hazel is survived by her sisters Geraldine Smith and Lillie Orrell, both of Benton; two children Gayla Lovell and husband Leon, and Linda Burrow and husband Michael; grandchildren Ron Gentry, Lynn Wood, Randy Gentry, Jerry Wood, Wayne McCool, Curtis McCool, Casey Lovell and Clay Lovell; and a blessed number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, February 15 at 12 noon at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton with funeral services to follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Arkansas Chapter, 210 N.
