Bernice T. Elias

Bernice T. Elias, 85, of Little Rock, died February 10, 2014. She was born July 14, 1928 in Weiner, Arkansas to Henry F. Ritter and Sophia Ruesewald Ritter. Mrs. Elias taught school for 46 years in Arkansas and Texas. She worked ten years as an employee of the state. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill E. Elias, her parents, three brothers, Donald J. Ritter, Henry N. Ritter and Paul E. Ritter. She is survived by one sister, Teresa Schneider (Lawrence), two brothers, Raymond Ritter (Mary) and Charles Ritter, all of Jonesboro. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her "special angel" Jo Schneider. Visitation will be Thursday, February 13th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th, Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 14th at the Cathedral of St. Andrew, 617 Louisiana with Msgr. Lawrence Frederick as Celebrant. Pallbearers will be nephews. nterment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Pulaski County Humane Society or Catholic School for Boys.
