Bruce Vincent Formaggio

Bruce Vincent Formaggio, age 65, of Stephens, died February 11, 2014 at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He worked at the Chicago Sun Times Newspaper and the Dallas Times Herald and was a U.S. Postal Carrier. Bruce was in the U.S. Army and served a tour in Vietnam in 1970. As a Military Policeman in the 18th Military Police Brigade, he initially was stationed at Pershing Field in Saigon with the 92nd MP Battalion, 300th MP Company. Bruce was transferred to the 557th MP Company and promoted to Specialist Fourth Class. Bruce was awarded a position in the Elite Combined Police Patrol unit. He is preceded in death by his father, Vincent S. Formaggio. He is survived by his wife, Ludie Margaret Primm Formaggio of Stephens; beloved mother, Janette L. Formaggio of Harwood Heights, Ill.; brothers, Steven Formaggio and wife, Pamela of Affpon, Mo. and Scott Formaggio of Harwood Heights, Ill.; sister, Barbara Ann Formaggio-Rajkovich and husband, Sergio of Chicago, Ill.; nephews, Francisco Formaggio of Alvarado, Texas, and Vincenzo Rajkovich of Chicago, Ill.; nieces, Larissa Formaggio of San Antonio, Texas and Elisabetta Rajkovich of Chicago, Ill; great nephews, Samuel Moreno and Mark Leal Jr. both of San Antonio, Texas; and great-niece, Corinne Formaggio of San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Stephens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
