Jimmy Scott Strayhorn

Jimmy Scott Strayhorn, born August 31, 1959, went to be with the Lord February 5, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy B. Strayhorn; grandparents, Frealen and Opal Strayhorn and Clarence Armstrong and Mary Phillips. Scott is survived by his mother, Mary Beth Fortenberry; stepfather, Gary C. Styers; grandmother, Fern Peters; long-time companion, Karen Phillips and her father, Charles Phillips; daughter, Star Strayhorn; sisters, Nancy Thomas, Lisa (Glenn) Gunter, Renee, Cindy, Tracy, and Sparky Strayhorn; brothers, Steven Styers and Gerald (Jennifer) Styers; two very special children, Stormy and Jessie; very special friend, John MacGrave; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
