Kimberely Ann Purnell Barnes

Kimberley Ann Purnell Barnes, age 49, an angel went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. She was born July 28, 1964 in Little Rock to Henry F. Purnell and Annette Williams Purnell. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Irene Williams, and Andrew and Nannie Purnell. Kimberley was a Registered Nurse and worked for UAMS and the VA Hospital for many years. She was a loving mother who raised her son single handedly while in a wheelchair, she touched many lives over her 20 year battle with MS. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving son, Blake Barnes; her parents, Henry and Annette Purnell; a brother, Tim Purnell and his wife Tamra; niece, Lauren; and a nephew, AJ Purnell. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Baptist Hospice or the Spinal Cord Commission.
