Shirley Ann Banks Harwell

Shirley Ann Banks Harwelll was born on November 2, 1936, in Smackover, Arkansas to Chester Arthur and Ruth Dean Banks. Shirley graduated from Norphlet High School. She worked 20 years for the Watson Chapel School District, before retiring as an Assistant Librarian. She was known for her strong Christian faith and her love of family and friends. She was a member of the Watson Chapel Baptist Church and a Master Gardner. Shirley went home to be with her Lord on February 19, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kit Scott Harwell, whom she married in August of 1957; parents; brothers, Jerry Dean Banks, Jimmy Banks, Don Banks, Dick Banks; sisters, Verna Clary and Delores Joyce. She is survived by her daughters, Kim Harwell of Pine Bluff and Nancy Harwell Weaver and husband Keith of Brinkley, five grandchildren, Blake Barnes of Mountain Home, Sarah Garner and husband Adam of Jonesboro, Rachel Barnes of Brinkley, Mitchell and Jackson Weaver of Clarendon; brother, Barney Ray Banks of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; sisters, Kay Finch of Collinsville, Virginia, Sharon Tilmon of Monroe, Louisiana, Kathy New of Magnolia and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Ralph Robinson & Son. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend M.L. Faler officiating.
