Her first 10 years in education she was a private kindergarten teacher. In 1967, she went to work for the Stuttgart Public School District where she was an elementary classroom teacher and an elementary guidance counselor before her retirement in 1990. She felt blessed to have a family that supported her career. She loved all of her students individually over the years and felt an honor to be their teacher. Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 23, from 2-4 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Stuttgart, Ark. Interment will be at Forrest Hills in Alexander, Ark.
