Alice Joan Seevers

On February 21, 2014, a well loved wife and mother of four, Alice Joan Osborne Seevers, of Des Arc, was carried home to be with her Savior at the age of 77. She was born on May 30, 1936 in Des Arc, AR to Alvin and Lorraine Muse Osborne. Jo married Riley Seevers on November 10, 1956. She is survived by her husband, Riley Seevers, one daughter, Cynthia Jo Seevers, two sons, Riley Keith Seevers and Aaron Joseph Seevers, one sister, Lana Gail Dearing, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly LaNae Seevers, her parents, Alvin and Lorraine Osborne, and two brothers, Harry Boise Osborne and Billy Jack Osborne. Jo worked for Dr. Schumann as his assistant for several years. She was a dedicated military and preacher's wife who devoted her life to serving the Lord, giving her time and service to her church family. As a mother and grandmother, she left us with a legacy of selflessness and compassion. Jo, aka, Mama Jo, has blessed so many lives with her unconditional love and acceptance. She will be forever in our hearts. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Des Arc. Pastor Melvin York officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Davis Bell, Joshua Berry, Butch Calhoun, Keith Knupp, Glen Holmes, and Terry Gentry. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Rogers, Donald DeVore and Terry Seevers.
