Freddy Wayne Dunegan, 73, of Batesville died at his home on Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born in Batesville, Arkansas on June 10, 1940 to Homer Dunegan and Mary Virginia (Martin) Dunegan. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Mount Zion Lodge. Freddy enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash music, traveling, and his daily coffee meetings with friends. One of his favorite things was his restored 1979 Trans Am and he loved Alaska. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Patricia A. (Moomaw) Dunegan of the home; two sons, Jody Lee Dunegan and his wife, Jenny of Southside and Andy Edwards of Batesville; one daughter, Tammy G. Edwards also of Batesville; five grandchildren: Jace Dunegan, Julee Dunegan, Jillian Dunegan all of Southside, Haley Dougan of Austin, Ark. and Katelin Fuller and her husband, Nate of Maple Springs, Ark. He is also survived by a sister, Merle Harmon and her husband, Winfred of Southside, and a faithful friend and dog, Frankie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Vernel Lee Dunegan and Michael Dunegan. Pallbearers will be Andy Edwards, Jerry Dunegan, John Ellis, Noel Baldridge, Robbi Francis, and Darrell Baker. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Dunegan, Terry McGee, Freddy Jones, Gary Hilburn, Melvin Hawkins, Billy Meeks, Kyle Francis, James Milum, Van Thomas, and Dr. Robert Walton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Hoover Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
