Olen Randell "Bubba" Carter, age 54 of Sheridan, formerly of Monticello, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, Ark. He was born February 29, 1960, in Dallas, Texas to Mary Bernice Hall Carter and the late Olen Odell Carter. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Monticello. Bubba was an avid Razorback fan and playing the guitar and banjo were among his favorite things to do. He had a huge heart, loved everyone and loved being involved with whatever others were doing. He also enjoyed riding four wheelers and going to the shop to work with his brother-in-law. He brought joy to everyone he was around and never met a stranger. Other hobbies that he enjoyed was grilling, raking leaves and just being with his family. Bubba dearly loved his mom and dad and has always been a "Mama's boy." His survivors include his mother, Mary Hall Carter of Sheridan; six sisters, Brenda Watson and husband David of Sheridan, Audrey McKenzie of North Little Rock; Cathy Owens and husband Dean of Pine Bluff; Mary Francis Pezullo and husband Tony of Monticello, Charlotte Fisher and husband Pat of Monticello, and Linda Shafer and husband Keith of Jonesboro; 11 nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; and his loving pet, Betty. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 26 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with burial in Carter Cemetery in Crossett. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
