Gerald D. Ferguson
Gerald D. Ferguson, 85, of Little Rock, was born December 31, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Lewis E. and Effie Golden Ferguson. He was a graduate of England High School, a veteran of the U. S. Army, a Mason, Shriner, a lifetime member of the DAV and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church at Little Rock, Arkansas.
He worked as Canteen Chief for the VA in seven different hospitals: Little Rock; North Little Rock; Amarillo, Texas; Danville, Illinois; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Chicago, Illinois; and Omaha, Nebraska. The majority of his career was in Omaha. He returned to Little Rock in 1996.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; a son: James R. Ferguson and two brothers: Sonny (Virgil) Ferguson of Shepard, Texas and Dickie Ferguson of Nashville, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife: LaVonne Bevans Ferguson; his two daughters: Margi Clark and Gina Dunham of Omaha, Nebraska; three granddaughters; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren; two stepsons: Rod Ramsay of Birmingham, Alabama and Jim Ramsay of Cos Cobb, Connecticut; a step-daughter: Bevans Fulbright of Chattanooga, Tennessee; three step-grandsons and three step-granddaughters. Also four great-grandchildren all of Omaha, Nebraska; and his brother: James (Bud) Ferguson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Services are being handled by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939. It will be graveside at Mulberry Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 27th, 2014. Memorial services and a reception will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 27th , 2014 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Rd., Little Rock, Arkansas, 72207.
