Otis Delmage Pharr

Otis Delmage Pharr, 91 of Hot Springs Village, Ark., formerly of Magnolia, AR died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark. Delmage was born in Walkerville, Ark. on October 30, 1922 to the late Otis Grady and Selonia Johnson Pharr. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruthie Mae; son Randy Pharr and wife Amelia of Conroe, Texas; daughter Delma Jensen and husband Wayne of Hot Springs Village; three grandsons Christopher Pharr and wife Jamie of Southlake, Texas, Rodney Black and wife Debbie of Keller, Texas and Garrett Pharr of Kileen, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Natalie Bishop and husband Anthony of Birmingham, Ala. and Rees and Lauren Winstead of Austin, Texas; six great grandchildren Caleb, Luke, Josh, Ethan Pharr of Southlake, Texas, Sloane and Hayden Black of Keller, Texas; three step great grandchildren Emery, Harper, Hadley Bishop of Birmingham, Ala.; and extended family members Susie Howard and Douglas Black. Delmage served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and resided in Columbia County for 85 years prior to moving to Hot Springs Village. He retired from the United States Post Office as a rural letter carrier and served the community as a volunteer on the Magnolia Fire Department and the Columbia County Landowners' Association. He was a member of the Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Hot Springs Village. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home with graveside services following at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Eric Goble officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Pallbearers will be Rodney Black, Chris Pharr, Robert Pharr, Ed Pharr, Billy Don Stamps, and Frank Neinast. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Delmage's honor may be made to Balboa Baptist Church Building Fund, 415 Ponce de Leon Drive, Hot Springs Village, Ark. 71909 or to the American Diabetes Association.
