Nancy May Sheeks. February 5, 1939 - December 28, 2013. Nancy passed away Saturday at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born in Bourbon, Mo., to a Baptist minister, Earl Clayton, and her mother, Anna Clayton, who both preceded her in death. She was married to her husband Hugh Sheeks, Jr. for over 60 years. He preceded her in death only twelve days earlier. It is only appropriate that after spending over 60 years together in life, they will spend eternity together. Nancy is survived by five sons; Franklin Jay, Ronald Hugh, John Ray, Stephen Earl, and Gerald Dwayne. She is survived by one daughter, Julia Vianne. Nancy was preceded in death by four brothers: William, Marvin, James and Sanford Clayton; and two sisters; Francis Kempfer and Thelma Wiesendanger. Nancy was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, and doting grandmother with a legacy of six children, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Flowers are welcome and memorial gifts may be directed to the Palestine Baptist Cemetery Fund in Pearson, Arkansas. Olmstead Funeral Home of Heber Springs, Arkansas, is serving the Sheeks Family in this time of loss. A viewing will be held Thursday at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs from 6-8 p.m. and the funeral will be held at Palestine Baptist Church in Pearson, Arkansas, on Friday at 11 a.m.
