A. Conley Gartman, 88, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord, December 31, 2013. He was born to Bunyan Lee and Livinie Elizabeth Lucas Gartman in Maud, Okla., March 5, 1925. Conley was a devoted husband, father, and granddad. He was member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ for many years. He enjoyed playing and listening to bluegrass music. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a coxswain and drove a landing craft in the Okinawa invasion. In civilian life, Conley worked for the Arkansas Gazette as a linotype operator. Joining the Lord before him were his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. His dearly loved wife of 70 and a half years, Mary Lois, will cherish his memory. Other survivors include his son, Paul (Carol) Gartman of Columbus, Ohio; his daughter, Peggy Dinger of Little Rock; five grandchildren: Don, Misty, Jodi, Chuck, and Scott; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his loving dog, Ginger. The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72212 (501) 225-5818. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m., Beebe Cemetery, Beebe, Ark.
