James Burton "Bert" Aaron, 96, of Redfield, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Born June 3, 1917, at Redfield, he was a son of the late Owen Russell Aaron and Mattie Mae Thrower Aaron. Mr. Aaron was a member of the River Road Church of God and a United States Army Veteran of WWII. He Retired in 1979 from 3M (Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing) after 27 years of service. He was a God fearing man who loved his family dearly, a friendly soul who never met a stranger. At his passing Mr. Aaron was Redfield's oldest resident and will certainly be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn Lampkin Aaron; five brothers, Russell, Jack, T.J., Buck and Walter Lee Aaron. Mr. Aaron is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Ashmead and husband Bill, Jeannie Kennedy, and Debbie Stacks and husband Roger; five grandchildren, Lorna, Jason, Keith, Nathan, and Nicole; nine great-grandchildren, and one the way; many other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at the River Road Church of God with Brother John Threat officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at the church.
