Donald Lett Appleton

Donald Lett Appleton, 61, of Bentonville, Ark. passed away Dec. 30, 2013. He was born April 27, 1952 in Newport, Ark., the fourth child of the late Ralph Appleton and Mildred Appleton. Graduating from Newport High School in 1970, he then attended Arkansas State University where he met his future bride. His career as an Oil and Gas Landman has taken him across the country, from the oil fields of North Dakota to the shale gas fields of Louisiana. He was an avid Razorback fan and 70's music enthusiast. He is survived by: his mother Mildred Appleton of Newport, Ark.; his wife Robin McLaughlin Appleton of Bentonville, Ark.; his daughter Mille Alderman and son-in-law Kyle Alderman of Bentonville, Ark.; his brother Jim Appleton and sister-in-law Donna Appleton of Charlotte, N.C.; his sister Jane Bratton of Clarksville, Tenn.; his sister Rosemary McGinnis and brother-in-law Paul McGinnis of Little Rock, Ark.; his brother-in-law Dee McLaughlin and sister-in-law Nancee McLaughlin of Bella Vista, Ark.; and nieces Katherine Travis of Conway, Ark.; Amy Bratton-McGuirk of Portland, OR; Ellen McGinnis of Denver, Ark.; and Lindsay Appleton of Charlotte, N.C. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Newport, Ark. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the church.
