Lonnie Taggart , 75, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2014 in Little Rock at the VA Hospital. Lonnie was born on May 23, 1938 in Albany, MO. He was the son of Ivory Emmery & Beulah Butler Taggart. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Saratoga during the Korean War as an Air Traffic Control Man. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was always active in his community as his children and grandchildren grew up. He was an excellent role model for his children and grandchildren by coaching sports, volunteering with scouts, and volunteered in the community in numerous roles are just a few of the activities he enjoyed with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Taggart, of Shannon Hills, Ark. She went above and beyond the duties as his wife, as she was also his loving care taker during the past several years; his three adored children two daughters, Deborah (Taggart) Garrett and her husband Donnie of Sheridan, Ark.; Renee Taggart of Shannon Hills, Ark.; and a son Tim Taggart and his wife Cristi of Kansas City, Kan. His three grandsons Lonnie W. Taggart and wife Mandy of Sheridan, Ark.; D.J. Garrett and his wife Terri of Benton, Ark.; and Landon Taggart and his girlfriend Bailey Brazil of Shannon Hills, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Serenity of Sheridan, AR; Nathan and John of Benton, Ark., and a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at noon on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Sardis United Methodist Church, 10715 W Sardis Road, Bauxite, Ark.
