Joe E. Seffense, 81, of Hot Springs Village passed away January 7, 2014. Born April 6, 1932 to the late Earl and Frances (Cain) Seffense in Huntington, West Virginia. Joe was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Graduate of Marshall College, West Virginia and spent 35 years as an accountant and comptroller for Wonder Bakery. After retirement Joe and Janet settled in Hot Springs Village where Joe enjoyed golfing with the Men's 9-Holers, playing pool and playing poker and was also a devoted Razorback Fan. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; John Seffense. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years Janet (Simms) Seffense: one daughter; Carol Whipple and husband Bill of Little Rock and one son: Stephen Seffense and wife Becky of Ft. Smith, four Grandchildren; Robert and Melissa Whipple and Cole and Courtney Seffense and one sister; Mary Whitehorn and husband Dave of Clearwater, Fla. Visitation was held on Friday January 10, 2014, with a private family burial following. All memorials can be made in his honor to the HSV Junior Golf Program.
