Daniel Boone Nickels

Daniel Boone Nickels Sr., 87, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014. He was born on August 1, 1926 in Soldier, Kentucky to Sherman and Goldie Nickels. He served in the Navy during WWII and retired as a disabled veteran. Mr. Nickels was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Perry Nickels; wife, Pearl Nickels and son, Daniel B. Nickels Jr. of Louisiana. He is survived by son, Richard (Lyn) Nickels of Star City; daughter, Sandy (John) Heard of Benton; son, William (Ramona) Nickels of Benton; daughter, Sherry (Larry) Cousins of Benton; daughter, Sue (Richard) Lovell of Bauxite; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Ashby Funeral Home.
