Robert Wayne Scherm

Robert Wayne Scherm, 59, passed away Tuesday along with his faithful and constant canine companion Suzie. Bobby was born December 7, 1954, in Stuttgart to Herman and Georgia Raab Scherm. He was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and received an associate's degree in electronics from ITT Technical College in Little Rock. Bobby served as mayor of Roe for the past 15 years and was a member of Roe Men's Club and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a farmer who loved the outdoors and enjoyed being the owner of Trotter Shooting Preserve. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Scherm; and a sister, Karen Owens. Survivors are his wife, Mary Preston Scherm; their children, Heather Scherm of Little Rock and Eric Scherm and wife Lauren of Stuttgart; one granddaughter, Merritt Rose Scherm; one brother, Eddie Scherm and wife Ann of Portland; three sisters, Sherry Hoffpauier and husband Joe of Stuttgart, Barbara Smith and husband Larry of Mountain Home and Janice Smith and husband Bo of Poplar Grove; his father- and mother-in-law, Roy and Mary Preston of Roe; brother-in-law, Jimmy Owens of Stuttgart; and sister-in-law, Fonda Scherm of Ulm. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 5 p.m. Thursday followed by visitation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home.
