Ruby Mae Lanier

Ruby Mae Lanier, age 88, of Lake Village, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at her home. She was born October 10, 1925, in Bastrop, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Otha Robinson and Mary Fullingame Robinson and was a secretary and a homemaker and a member of Lake Village Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha and Mary Robinson and by a brother, Elton Robinson. Survivors are her husband of 71 years, Bobby Lanier, two daughters, Bobbie Sue Johnson of Parish, Florida and Mari L. Weaver of St. John's, Florida; four grandchildren, J.J. Weaver, Leslie Weaver, Angie McAfee and Ginger Johnson and one great-grandson, Riley McAfee. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at Lake Village Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bell officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Causey Cemetery near Bastrop, Louisiana. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
