Verna Wardlow Curtiss

Mrs. Verna Wardlow Curtiss, 94, of Wynne, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Wynne, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Wardlow and Elizabeth Phillips Wardlow and her husband, Olie Earl Curtiss in 2000. Verna was born in Ramer, Tennessee on January 27, 1919. She lived in Wynne most of her life. Verna was a Bookkeeper for Vanndale Public Schools, was the Deputy Assessor for Cross County and worked in the Tax Assessor's Office. She was a member of Wynne Baptist Church, a member of the Agape Sunday School Class, she was very involved with her church, family and friends. Survivors are her daughters, Barbara Doss (Talmadge) of Wynne; Betty Sain (Noris) of Wynne; Sandra Cherry (James) of Heber Springs; Ann Dye (Gary) of Wynne; brother, James William Wardlow of Birmingham, Alabama; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2014, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home with services following at 2 PM. Burial will be in Cogbill Cemetery with Rev. Bob Wilson officiating.
