Walter T. "Pete" Bowman

Walter T. "Pete" Bowman, 92, of Bearden died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. He was born May 7, 1921 in Bearden, Arkansas. He was a retired telegraph operator for the Cotton Belt railroad. He was also a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Bearden. He is preceded in death by his parents, E.D. Bowman and Hattie Mae Huntley Bowman; wife, Vera Garrison Bowman; two brothers, Ed and Bill Bowman; four sisters, Mildred Womack, Marie Lansdale, Frances Symons, and Ailene Taluc; and son-in-law, Carlton Quarles. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Quarles of Bearden; one sister and brother-in-law, Ina and Wilton Hutcheson of Camden; two granddaughters and their husbands, Shannon and Cleo Beard of Bearden, Kristen and Russell Parramore of Rosepine, La.; four great grandchildren, Abby, Emma and Noah Beard all of Bearden, Cade Parramore of Rosepine, La.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Bearden with Rev.
