Rachel Louise Massey, 82, went to heaven on Wednesday, January 22. She was born in Holly Grove, Arkansas on June 21, 1931 to Lewis and Elsie Roswell Lockerby. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ray, a brother, Charles Lockerby and a sister, Maxine Moore. Rachel worked in retail sales and customer service for Sears in North Little Rock and Little Rock, Arkansas. After that she worked in food service for the Cabot School district. She enjoyed working with students at the Cabot High School concession stand. She would often take a pot of soup to feed the hungry student workers. After finally retiring, she enjoyed time with her beloved husband Charles Ray, enjoying breakfast and coffee with friends at several local diners. Together, they also enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding a four wheeler. She was an avid Bridge player and played with her friends every week. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, where she joyfully served her "ministry" as church hostess for many years. Survivors include a daughter Debbie (Frank) Pullen in Roland; son, Chuck (Joyce) Massey of Austin, a sister, Lynn (Jerrel) Maxwell of Cabot, four granddaughters, three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, January 24 from 5-7 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot. Funeral services are Saturday, 10 a.m. in the same location. The family would like to thank all friends and other family members for their love and support during this time. To sign her guestbook, visit www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
