Robert E. Rutherford, age 51, of Redfield, Ark, departed for an eternal pheasant hunt Saturday, January 25, 2014. He is survived by His loving wife, Angela M. Rutherford, of 27 years and will be missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Kristal Clark, and Bethany Rutherford of Prairie Grove, and by two sons, Kenneth Peiffer of Utah and John Peiffer of Pa. Known as "Pa Bob" he was the proud Grandfather of three grandsons and three granddaughters; by his parents, four siblings, Joe Rutherford , Texas, Sheila Wilkins, Oklahoma, Donna Mclean and DeDe Glover, Arkansas. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was born in Baytown, Texas on March 5, 1962, to Joe E. Rutherford and Sybil Abrahamsen, he graduated from Prairie Grove High School, Arkansas in 1980. Joining the US Navy in 1984, he served six years as a Sonar Technician, attaining the rank of Second Class Petty Officer. He was assigned to the USS Kidd and the USS Charles F. Adams. Robert qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and his awards include the Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, as well as the US Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon and various other decorations. Following his Honorable discharge in 1990 he settled in Redfield with his bride, serving as an officer in the Redfield Police Department, Deputy with Jefferson County Sheriff's office and the past 17 years with the Army Corp of Engineers, earning a Commander's Award for Civilian Service by the Department of the Army. He was honored to be Past Master of Masonic Lodge #700 in Redfield. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, flea markets, attending lodge meetings and spending time with his "Bride" Angie and family. Services and Interment will be held at 12 noon Friday, January 31, 2014 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock. Per Robert's wishes please dress casual! Friends are welcome to join the family from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Redfield Masonic Lodge #700, 103 Southeast Railroad, Redfield.
