Wade M. Tull

Wade M. Tull, 98, died January 21, 2014, at The Legacy at Willow Bend, Plano, Texas. He was born January 25, 1915, to Hunter and Rosa Bailey Mashburn Tull at home in Sardis, Arkansas. A memorial service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 17, at First United Methodist Church, Benton, Arkansas. Private burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Sardis. Mr. Tull married Oneida Sigsby of Rector and Bauxite in the Benton Methodist Church on June 16, 1941. In 1944 they made Crossett their home, and he owned Tull's Shoe Center there for many years. They also lived in Texarkana and Little Rock. Mr. Tull was an inveterate storyteller with a quirky sense of humor. Customers and neighbors benefitted from his many acts of kindness. He belonged to Lions and Rotary clubs and was active in the United Methodist Church wherever he lived. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Oneida in 2003, his brother-in-law Bert E. Sigsby, and all his brothers and sisters: Paul Mashburn, Euin Tull, Lonnie Tull, Lora Tull Richardson, Wesley Tull, Ethel Tull Green, Wilson Tull, and Raymond Tull. Wade Tull is survived by his children The Rev. Janna Tull Steed of Creston, Iowa; Dr. Justin Tull (wife Janette) of Carrollton, Texas, and Joel Tull of Greensboro, North Carolina; his grandchildren Martin Tull (wife Donna) of White Salmon, Washington, and Alison Cruden (husband Clay) of Portland, Oregon; and two great-grandsons, Owen and Fisher Cruden. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Lyndall (husband Max) Hardin of Jonesboro, Janelle Viertel of Boonville, Missouri, and Glenna Bookout of Rector, as well as several generations descended from his and his wife's siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church or charity of the donor's choice.
