Carl Marcelle Conners

Carl Marcelle Conners I, 65, of Hot Springs Arkansas, completed his journey on this Earth January 27th 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in Quincy, Ill. on November 29th 1948 to Arthur and Laura (Applegate) Conners. He and Candace Coleman were married on March 18th 1967. They were blessed with 3 children, Laura Anne, Brooke Michelle, and Carl Marcelle II. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Eric Conners. He is survived by: his wife Candy; daughters, Laura Bailey (John) and their sons Jacob and Coleman of Cabot, Ark.; Brooke Austin (Toby) and their children Conner and Abbey Grace of Crossett, Ark.; son, Carl Conners II (Traci) and son Matthew of Las Vegas Nev.; brothers, Arthur Conners (Thelma) of Chicago, Ill. and Marc (Brenda) Conners of Quincy, Ill.; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Carl was a loving husband, Dad, and Papaw who's greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. He was a US Army Veteran and Production Manager in the packaging business until his retirement from Smurfit-Stone. He enjoyed traveling, the Chicago Bears, and many hobbies. A memorial service followed by an informal get together for family and friends will be held Saturday February 1st at 10 a.m. at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock 501-835-3515.
