Gary Layne Haver

Gary Layne Haver, age 66, of Sherwood Arkansas went to be with his eternal father on June 27, 2014. Gary, son of Onis and Charles David Haver, brother of Wayne Haver of Fort Smith, passed away in his home on the 27th following a stroke. He is survived by his loving wife Sherri, and had three children, Layne, Joanna, and Sara Beth, as well as three step-children, Tom, Tami, and Tiffany, and 12 grandchildren. Gary was a school teacher for over thirty years before retiring from the North Little Rock School District in 2011, touching the lives of generations of students. Always an athlete, he was an avid golfer and bowler well into his later years, and was also a talented musician, who would sing and play his hammered dulcimer. Always ready with a new joke, the light and warmth he brought to his family and friends will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400).
