Synthia Mae Foster Hollis

Synthia Mae Foster Hollis, 94, of Fountain Hill, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Mrs. Hollis was a native and life long resident of Ashley County and Fountain Hill. She was a homemaker and she owned and operated the Hollis Grocery Store in Fountain Hill for many years. She was a true and faithful member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church where she was the Adult Ladies Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She enjoyed cooking for her family and telling wonderful stories. She was committed to her family, a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Proverbs 31 about the virtuous woman sums up her life and the person she was. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil B. Hollis in 1980; three sons, Pete Hollis, Lon Earl Hollis & Charles W. Hollis; her parents, Jess & Cynthia Jane White Foster; a great-granddaughter, Mia Rose Hollis; four brothers and a daughter-in-law, Sharon O'Neal Hollis. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Riels and husband, Glynn of Fountain Hill; a brother, Harold Foster of Hope; two daughters-in-law, Cynthia Ann Watson Hollis of Fountain Hill and Judy Hollis of Poway, California; seven grandchildren, Cindy Adams and husband, Ronnie, of Crossett, Nancy Monsue of South Carolina, Karen Dixon and husband, Ricky, of Dallas, Texas, Alan Riels and wife, Lisa, of Hamburg, Alicia Kunert and husband, Joel, of Maumelle, Andy Riels and wife, Susan, of Crossett and Chuck Hollis and wife, Stephanie, of Hamburg; 16 great-grandchildren, Kristy Thomas and husband, Brian, of Crossett, Matthew Adams and wife, Crystal, of Rogers, R.J. Dixon, Hollis Dixon, Mason Dixon and John Dixon all of Dallas, Texas, Kayla Riels and Drew Riels both of Crossett, Kevin Stewart of Rogers, Kolby Stewart and Kason Stewart both of Crossett, Will Cooper of Fountain Hill, Luke Kunert of Conway, Chance Hollis, Allison Bussmann and husband, Adam, and A.J. Riels all of Hamburg; 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, July 4, 2014 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Gregory and Rev. Keith Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons. Memorials may be made to the Mia Rose Hollis Memorial Garden, P.O.
