Connie Betnar

Connie Betnar, 78, of Quitman, passed away on July 2, 2014. Born in Spoke Plant, Ark. on June 29, 1936 to Henry Betnar and Minnie Acord Betnar, he was orphaned at a young age ... Raised by his Uncle Newell and Aunt Zulie Acord Stepp near Spoke Plant, he grew up in the Ozark Mountains. Connie was a Korean War Veteran, retired building contractor that owned an insulation and guttering company, and cattle rancher. In his pastime, he loved fishing, working with his cattle, and woodworking. His true love was ranching. He was a family man that was survived by and will be dearly missed by his wife, Ivia Schlem Betnar; two children, Jerry Betnar and Ann Betnar; a brother, Clyde Betnar; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Caleb Pike and Jared and Jennifer Betnar; and seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Kathy Schlem; and a nephew, Justin Schlem.
