Margaret Dean Kinne, 95, of Cabot died Wednesday, July 9, 2014. She was born September 7, 1918 in Osawatomie, Kansas to the late Percy St. Clair and Clara Fay Thompson Spaulding. She was secretary at the Water Valley, Mississippi School District. She also was secretary to the Mayor of Water Valley and then served as Executive Director of the Federal Housing Authority in Water Valley. After leaving Water Valley, she resided with her daughter Bette McQueary, in Durham/Waxhaw, North Carolina for ten years before moving to Cabot to live with her daughter Bonne Jensen. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano and organ and she played at the First Methodist Church and Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church in Water Valley, as well as at whatever requests were made of her at weddings and funerals. Margaret loved people and always sought to serve others in caregiving. She had a generous spirit and always thought of others, and prayed for her family without ceasing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Merle E. Kinne, her son, Robert M. Kinne, her sister Bette Wiltse, her brother, Granville Spaulding, and her parents Percy St. Clair and Clara Fay Spaulding. Margaret is survived by her son, Bill Kinne (Lee Ann) of Birmingham, Ala.; her daughter Bette (Vernon) McQueary of Waxhaw, North Carolina; Bonne Jensen of Cabot; and Brenda (Frank Hunter) of Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to five children, Margaret had 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by the large legacy of family she has left behind. A celebration of Margaret's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July12, 2014 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with Reverend Dick Avey officiating. The celebration will continue at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, Mississippi with burial to follow.
