Frieda Mae Deeter Linz

FRIEDA MAE DEETER-LINZ entered this world on Sept. 22, 1924 to Finis Elmer and Della Mae Brown-Deeter and served as a blessing to all who knew her until God called her home on Saturday, July 12, 2014. She married the love of her life when she was barely 18 and soon had to see her husband serve in WWII. She would travel by train to California during that time in hopes of just getting to spend some time with him. Over the years, they enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning together. She was well known as an excellent cook and took great pride in cooking for others. She was a wonderful wife and mother to their two children and always lead by example. After their children were grown, she fell in love with a house they would pass and they snatched it up as soon as it went on the market. Then, being the kind and loving person she was, began raising a granddaughter. Again, serving as an excellent mother and example. When she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence N. Linz Sr., she devoted herself to her church. She served as Sunday School teacher, an officer in the W.M.U and also served on a committee helping to plan activities for the senior members at Graves Memorial Baptist Church in North Little Rock. She loved her church and her church family, developing deep friendships and bonds. She always credited them with helping to ease the grief of losing her husband. 1997 was her first diagnosis with Lymphoma and she fought it admirably and was in remission in less than a year. She never once complained, feeling she had been fortunate to have always had excellent health until that time. When the Lymphoma came back in 2004, she faced it just as she had before. She always trusted in God to get her through any obstacle and never "fretted" about herself or her cancer. After battling against a much worse form of Lymphoma for over five years, she eventually entered Hospice care at home with her family and passed peacefully. Of all the words used to describe her over the years (sweet, kind, generous, inspiring, helpful, humble, honest-she could not tell a lie to save her life), the one that was always used the most was Godly. She was a good and Godly woman that will be greatly missed. In addition to being preceded in death by her parents; and husband; she was also preceded by her son, Clarence "Buddy" Linz Jr.; her brothers, Derwin and James W. Deeter; and sisters, Frances Deeter-McCabe and Nina Louise Deeter. She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Carroll) Kinley of Desha, Ark. and Clarissa (Ron) Peters of Sherwood, Ark.; her sister, Carol Perry of North Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive visitors at North Little Rock Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home with Rev.
