Rector Turner

Rector Turner was born in Tollette, Ark. October 1, 1922, later relocating to Fulton, Ark. He departed this life July 10, 2014. He was a graduate of the Battery and Markham Street School for the Blind. After being self-employed as a salesman, he received further training from the Vending Facility Program in the state of Arkansas, receiving numerous awards including one from Governor Bill Clinton. He retired as manager after 34 years. Rector was known for his wisdom, kindness, generosity and deep compassion. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church for over 60 years, serving as a member of the male chorus, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon/Trustee and Mission Ministry. Rector's other special interest: Arch view Baptist Church Senior Group, the Jolly Bunch Alumni and the Lutheran Church Visually Impaired Ministry. He is survived by son, Walter Oliver, daughters, Lanier Brown Constance Smith, Deborah Jones (Tom), Diane Austin (Alden); brother-in-law, Edward L. Goode, Sr.(Margaret), grandchildren, Constance Harris, Phyllis Williams, Valerie Smith, Tamara Kyser, Caroline Rodgers, John W. Smith III, Sunnye Durham, Ryan Durham, Therese Oliver, Alicia Brown, James Brown, Erica Moore and Tracy Gary; 19 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be Saturday July 19, 2014, 11 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church 1215 Schiller St. Family hour will be Friday, July 18, from 6 til 7:30 p.m. with both services at the church.Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S.
