Rose Alice "Peggy" Bright Curtis went to be with the Lord Monday, July 14, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Floyd Allen Curtis. Two sons, Steve Curtis (Linda), Allen Curtis (Marybeth), and a daughter Peggy Tyner (Larry) all of Little Rock. Five grandchildren: Stephanie Winstanley (Mark); Veronica Jones; Sarah Perry (Aaron); Jessica Morgan (Mike); and Kellie Milburn (Jeff) all of Little Rock; snd eight great-grandchildren. Rose was born on May 17, 1926 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Robert "Bob" Bright and Rosa Alice Lawrence Bright. She was the youngest of 11 children. Her mother passed away when she was only seven years old. So she went to live with her older sister, Dorothy Mann, who came to be a mother to her. She graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1944. In 1946, she married the love of her life Floyd Allen Curtis. They made their home and raised their children in Little Rock. As her children were growing up, Rose was primarily a full-time Mom and homemaker. When her children were older, she helped out by working outside the home in various jobs. Most of her employment positions involved fabrics or sewing, but her true career was always wife, Mom, and later "Mammaw". Rose dedicated her life to her husband, family, and Jesus Christ. As the wife of a Baptist Minister, she was a wonderful helper to her husband, and she was one of the most patient and understanding pastor's wives to ever grace this earth. To know her IS to love her. As a young person, she always had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, and a gracious attitude toward everyone. One other very important thing about Rose- if she encountered anyone who indicated that they did not know about her Lord and Savior, she was very quick to tell them all about Him and how He had changed her life. Her life was truly a witness for Jesus Christ. Her legacy is a legend of love that will be told of and cherished for generations to come. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the Chapel of Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
