BETTY FAYE STRUDLEY RHOADS passed away in Little Rock, Ark. at Baptist Hospital Little Rock, Ark. on July 18, 2014 at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Strudley and Emma Lindsey Young; her husband, Harold Leroy Rhoads; her brother, Dale Pope; and her sister-in-law, JoAnne Reimard. Betty Faye graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1952, was a member of Western Hills United Methodist Church and served in the choir, as treasurer, the Shephard Center, the Food Pantry and Under the Bridge Ministry. She also was a volunteer for the Alzheimer Association and for Meals on Wheels. Betty Faye possessed the gift of giving – No soul went hungry or uncared for, whether her own husband of 49 years, family, or strangers under the bridge. Love and kindness emitted from her everyday being. Betty showed love and compassion to her church and to any of those in need. Those who knew and loved her appreciated her underlying passion for life. She leaves us with a yearning to follow her lead in vivacious living and care for all. She is survived by her children, Sharon Hill and her husband Wayne of Bryant, Ark, Christy Brewster of Ft Wayne, Ind., Harold "Buddy" Rhoads Jr. and wife Dena of Roland, Ark., Scott Rhoads of Little Rock, Ark.; by her siblings, Bob Pope and wife Pam of Dallas Texas, Tim Young and wife Barbara of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Ruth Ratcliff of North Little Rock, Ark., David "Corky" Young and Debby Denton of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Mary Priest and husband Charles of Sherwood, Ark.; brother-in-law, Bob Rhoads and wife Donna of Sherwood; her grandchildren, Marisa Vandett, Jeff Hill and wife Mandy, Justin Hill and fiancée Tiffany Knox, Hollie Norris, and Emma Rhoads; and her great-grandchildren, Reagan Vandett, Jacob Vandett, Lilli Vandett, Cadence Hill and Grayson Hill. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 22 at noon at Western Hills United Methodist Church with Reverend Sylvia Nosic officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander Ark. Visitation will be Monday, July 21 from 6–8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home.
