Dwight Eddie Humphrey, 64, of Pearcy, passed away July 10, 2014. He was born August 10, 1949 in Morenci, Arizona to the late Dwight Humphrey and Ola Mae Hamilton Humphrey. Eddie graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1967 and attended Henderson State College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and attended LakePointe Church. He was married to the late Roma Hicks Humphrey for 12 years. Eddie is survived by his son, Dwight Lynn Humphrey; daughter, Debora Babbitt and husband Thomas; two grandsons, Lynn Humphrey Jr. and wife Megan and Bryan Claire; great-granddaughter, Anna Marie Humphrey all of Benton; brother, Larry Humphrey and wife Sharon of Russellville; nephew, Clay Humphrey of Minneapolis, Minnesota; niece, Chanda Humphrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one very special aunt, Dovie Tanner of Russellville; two uncles, Alvin Hamilton and wife Bennie of Deming, New Mexico and Bud Humphrey and wife Geralene of Glenwood and a host of cousins and friends. He was a housing contractor, carpenter, pilot, scuba diver & musician. His favorite hobbies were flying, scuba diving, restoring wrecked automobiles, riding motorcycles, playing guitar & bass and deer hunting. Eddie was involved with the Young Eagles program with the EAA and served as the Vice President of the Hot Springs Chapter #1398. He possessed a keen ability to diagnose problems with and fix mechanical devices. Eddie greatly enjoyed building houses and taking mechanical things apart and putting then back together just to understand how they really work. Memorial services will be will be held 12 noon Thursday at Lake Pointe Church, 1343 Albert Pike, Hot springs, Arkansas 71913. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Eddie's name to the Experimental Aircraft Association, Hot Springs Chapter #1398 at 525 Airport Road in Hot Springs, Ark. 71913.
