Windell Rex Wells, 73, of Fordyce died Friday, July 18, 2014 at Green House Cottages in Rison. He was born September 15, 1940 in Milltown, Ind. Rex served as a Navy Seal in the Vietnam War and was a retired sales clerk for Benton Hardware in Fordyce. He had also worked for the Dallas County Sheriff's office, Dallas County Sheriff's Auxiliary and the Fordyce Police Department. He was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Elmo Wells and Rosie Hall Nay; two sisters, Sharon Babbs and Donna Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Conga Louise Brown Wells of Fordyce;; daughter, Mary Ann Wells Goldman of Indiana; step-mother, Margie Bumgardner of Fordyce; three brothers, Richard Hensley of Milltown, Ind., Roger Hensley of Laconia, Ind., Ivan Nay of Jeffersonville, Ind; two sisters, Cathy Benningfield of Corydon, Ind., Charlotte Rinker of Milltown, Ind.; and 20 nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Rev. Harold Harper officiating. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
