Stanley Rhea Haley

Stanley Rhea Haley, 80, of Benton, Ark. passed away July 23, 2014. He was born December 12, 1933 in Scott, Arkansas to the late Lamar and Mabel Rhea Haley. Stanley worked as a long-haul truck driver for 31 years. He received the 3 million miles safe driving award. He served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He is remembered for always wearing cowboy boots as he was not a suit and tie kind of man. He enjoyed playing the guitar at the Benton Senior Adult Center. Stanley was a member of Saline Missionary Baptist Church in Tull, Ark. Stanley loved his home place. He rescued over 100 orphan dogs and had 27 hunting beagles at one time. Stanley was a member of the Benton High School Class of 1953. The world lost a wonderful man and heaven gained a wonderful soul. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Judith Haley of Benton, Ark.; one daughter, Stephanie Triplett and husband Coleman of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Kevin Haley and wife Georgeann of Memphis, Tenn. and Philip Majer of Indianapolis, Ind.; brothers and sisters, Dean Haley and wife Norma, Kathryn Smith, Gerald Haley and wife Janelle, Paul Haley and wife Gracie, Phyllis Harrison, Robin Parsons and husband Odas all of Benton, Ark.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, loving great-aunt; Geri Robertson; two beloved dogs, Cheyenne and Sadie, plus a host of family members and friends who loved Stanley and will miss him always.
