Richard "Rick" Joslin
Richard "Rick" Joslin, 60, of White Hall, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at home.
He was born July 19, 1953 in Little Rock, son of Doyle and Betty Lou Terry Joslin.
Mr. Joslin was reared and received his early education in England, Ark., graduating from England High School. He attended the University of Central Arkansas.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church and current chairman of the Pine Bluff/ Jefferson County Historical Museum Board of Directors.
Rick's professional career included working with the Pine Bluff News, Jefferson County Office of Emergency Management, Booz Allen Hamilton, Coleman Research Foundation and White Hall Journal before working at the Pine Bluff Commercial. He was currently a reporter with the Pine Bluff Commercial.
His professional achievements included a book titled "Bayou Country: An Illustrated History of Jefferson County", Arkansas Education Association School Bell Award for writings on education issues, Booz Allen Hamilton Values in Practice Award, Pine Bluff Arsenal Commander's Coin and over 50 writing awards.
Mr. Joslin was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Beth McCarver Joslin, whom he married Nov. 10, 2007 in White Hall; son, Reverend Rocky Joslin of Austin, Ark.; step-son, Nicholas Koberlein of White Hall; mother, Betty Lou Joslin of White Hall; three brothers, Terry Joslin of North Little Rock, David Joslin of Little Rock, and James Joslin of Stuttgart; and sister, Debby Duvall of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at Central Baptist Church with Reverend Rocky Joslin and Reverend Allen Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. at Central Baptist Church.
