Ernestine Leach Barry, 90, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was born June 19, 1924 in Plainview, Ark. to the late B.A. Leach and Ola Breashears Leach. On December 17, 1944 she was married to Archie Barry, who preceded her in death in 2005. Ernestine loved the Lord and family was most important to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a resident of Morrilton and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. Tending to her vegetable garden and many plants was a favorite past-time, as well as, sharing her homemade jellies and sour dough bread. She was an employee of the Museum of Automobiles, Petit Jean and of Wal-Mart for many years. Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, Dennis (Jan) Barry, Arlington, Texas; Steve (Kathy) Barry, North Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Elaine (Warren) Wheat, Springdale, Ark.; Blake (Rachel) Barry, Arlington, Texas; Jordan (Sarah) Barry, Waco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Will, Emma Kate, and Wyatt Wheat; Catherine Barry. She loved and was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Ernestine was preceded in death by all her beloved siblings, Odell Leach, Thurston Leach, Hanford Leach, Imogene Bridges, Hazel Marcum and Martha Jones. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the First Baptist Church in Morrilton with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be made in her honor to the Arkansas Heart Foundation, First Baptist Church Morrilton, Ark. or to the charity of your choice.
