Samuel "Sam" W. Callihan, age 93, of Morrilton, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, June 26, 2014. He was born May 9, 1921 in Hattieville, a son of the late Charles P. and Leona Kenner Callihan. He was the widower of Sally Vance Rainey Callihan. He was a graduate of Morrilton High School, he voluntarily joined the Navy in 1942 served for 4 years and was honorably discharged as a Radioman First Class. He then went to work at First State Bank for 17 years. Next he worked for Morrilton Security Bank for 21 years and then retired as President of the bank. After retirement, he and his wife Sally traveled the country for 12 years spending much time together enjoying life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrilton. Survivors include son: Jerry Rainey and wife Mary of Hot Springs Village; daughter: Cindy Nalley and husband Bob of Little Rock; daughter-in-law: Linda Rainey of Morrilton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by two infant children; son: Dale Rainey; grandson: Dan Brown Nalley; granddaughter: Michelle Rainey; and seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Morrilton with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Family will receive friends 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net.
