Ruth Reddin Blann

Ruth Reddin Blann departed this life on March 1, 2014 at the age of 97. She was born Feb. 3, 1917 to the late Robert and Lurline Nichols Reddin at Tinsman, Ark. She liked to tell how her family moved by wagon to Woodberry when she was a young girl. Ruth was a kind and loving wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herbert Lee Blann; a granddaughter, Jennifer Blann; six brothers, William, Lee, Kirby, Faye, Bobby, and James Reddin; three sisters, Mildred Bass, Nell Foster and Mable Merritt. She is survived by two sons, Billy (and Freddie Sue) Blann and Benny (and Caron) Blann of Hampton; five grandchildren, David (and Gina) Blann of Stephens, Ark., Joey (and Arlene) Blann, Janet Blann, Melissa (and Brian) Bradley of Hampton, Tim (and Marsha) Blann of Conway; two step-grandchildren, Lance (and Donna) Chastain of Magnolia and Shirey (and Roy) Robertson of Magnolia; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Emma Jean Reddin of Hampton and Doris Reddin of Irving, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a faithful member of Campground Presbyterian Church of Hampton where she served others wherever she was needed. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Benton Funeral Home at Hampton. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Campground Presbyterian Church with Rev. Garland Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery.
